In the 80's, Napalm Death established themselves as a fundamental act in the grindcore movement. Even with several line up changes, the group always found themselves moving forward and taking their style of music to the next level. With the dawn of a new decade, and the death metal movement in its golden era, Napalm Death found themselves edging closer to death metal with each release. Their third full length, "Harmony Corruption", took the band further into death metal territory. After the loss of Bill Steer (of Carcass) and Lee Dorian (who formed Cathedral), Napalm Death found themselves a vocalist with Barney Greenway (ex-Benediction), and found themselves a duo of guitarists from North America: the American Mitch Harris, and the Mexican Jesse Pintado (ex-Terrorizer). Seeing as Terrorizer had already recorded with Scott Burns at Morrisound Studios, it seemed only appropriate that Napalm Death would make their way to Florida to give themselves the sound that so many death metal bands of the time were achieving. "Harmony Corruption" proves to be a brutal album that mixes their grindcore musicianship with death metal structures.
